Coffee with Caregivers: Navigating Grief as a Special Needs Parent

Description

Join us for a meaningful morning dedicated to the quiet, often unspoken grief that can come with parenting a child with different abilities. Whether it’s grieving lost expectations, facing the emotional weight of medical complexities, or watching your child experience social isolation—this conversation is for you.

Event Highlights:
🗣 Guest Presentation: Dr. Tanise McInnis, LCSW, Ed.S., BC-TMH, CAS

Dr. Tan brings 25+ years of experience in mental health, advocacy, and caregiver well-being. She’ll lead us through a compassionate talk on the unique grief parents often carry, with insights on healing and self-compassion.

💬 Open Conversation
After the presentation, caregivers are invited to share, reflect, or simply listen in a safe, supportive space. No pressure—just connection.

🤝 Community & Coffee
Enjoy complimentary coffee, light refreshments, and time to connect with others who truly understand.

Why This Matters:
Grief in caregiving is complex and can resurface at any moment. By creating space to acknowledge these feelings, we give ourselves and each other permission to heal.
